The tambourine is a means of transportation of a shaman in his travels (horse, deer, boat). It is a container for the spirits-assistants during the journey and often a model of the universe.&nbsp;
Figures on a shaman tambourine reveal one of its most important values as a symbol of the universe. Among them there is an image of a flat land bordered by mountains and seas, overturned over the earth a dome-shaped sky, based on the edges of the earth, and other images reflecting the ideas of the universe, which are told in the oral myths of the Siberian peoples.
