Laura is a comfortable wired bra made from stable fabric.

The bra has wide one-piece fabric straps which are adjustable from the back. You can insert plastic bones along the side seams if you want.

The pattern involves the use of regular underwires (not demi or slightly shorter). This bra pattern is designed for stable fabric.

All my bras sewn on conventional sewing machine with the function of a zig-zag.

Please read carefully before purchasing to determine the size of the sewing pattern correctly.

I do not use a conventional measurement system. The main measure that I use is the horizontal arc (HD), in centimeters (see the picture). Simply put, you need to take this measurement between the ends of the underwire through the protruding point of the chest, horizontally. The dimensions of my sewing patterns are according to this measurement (if your measurement of HD is 23 cm, then you need size 23). This enables an individual approach to the creation of patterns. In the usual way, the pattern is created according to the difference between two dimensions (bust and under bust girth), but within this framework a wide variety of shapes and sizes is possible.

Another important measure is the girth under the bust. This measurement is indicated in the pattern name. There is a file on how to adjust the pattern in accordance with your girth under the bust.

We live in different countries and use different supplies. Therefore, there is a file on how to change the pattern according to your underwires, elastic bands and hook and eye closure.

I use a system of individual measurements to create a personalized pattern because each person’s figure is unique. You can buy ready-made patterns according to the size described above (please note that measurements are in centimeters).

If you have not found the right size or you have some body features that require an individual approach, I can make custom patterns for you according to individual measurements. There is a special listing for this https://www.inspireuplift.com/Wired-Bralette-Pattern-Custom-Bra-Pattern-Laura-Balconette-Bra/iu/32292

This pattern is at an easy/intermediate level. Previous bra sewing experience is recommended. You need to know how to sew underwire channeling and elastic, etc.

Materials and supplies:

*Paper pattern;

*Sewing machine;

*Scissors;

*Pins;

 *Sewing thread;

*Natural fabric (linen, cotton - about 1 m), including fabric to make bias tape;

*Elastic for the band (according to your girth under the bust);

*Strap elastic about 70 cm / 28 inches (the strap width should match the size of your rings and sliders for secure straps that stay in place);

*Elastic to make the upper cup trim (about 2.5 m);

*Rings and sliders;

*Underwire channeling (about 1 m / 40 inches);

*Bias tape maker to make the bias tape 12 mm (1/2 inch) wide; patchwork cutting mat and rotary cutter. If you don’t have these tools, you can do without them. Then you need to cut the fabric with scissors to make the bias tape, and do everything by hand;

*Hook and eye closure;

*Regular underwires;

*2 plastic/metal bones (if you want). It is best to use special plastic corset bones. If you don’t have them, you can use the whalebone shown in the photo, but this is a bad option. Bones made from whalebone quickly lose their shape and dig into the skin.

It is very convenient to use a special tailor’s ham https://www.inspireuplift.com/Bra-Ham-Sewing-Pattern-Half-Ball-Ham-Pattern-Tailor/iu/14851 . This round tailor’s ham is an indispensable item when sewing a bra. It makes it possible to give the correct shape to round seams when ironing.
