This is a variant of the "Odighitria" type which has the peculiarity of the representation of the Child in an upright position. The Russian icon is crafted up to the chest and is characterized by a "cut" image perspective, which became popular in the 16th century. According to the iconography of this work, the first image of the "Mother of God of Kazan"...
