History of the camera
"FED-5" is the second camera from the unified family of "FED-5". This camera has built-in selenium exposure meter and dioptric adjustment.
This camera replaced "FED-4" in production at Kharkiv Mechanical Plant "FED" (Kharkiv, Ukraine, USSR) and was produced since 1977 till 1990.
Price of the camera was 77 Soviet Roubles (with average salary 120 Soviet Roubles per month).
Camera got a self-throwing off frame-counter. This increased the height of the camera greatly. Backwind is with a sliding head.
Body is metal with removable rear cover.
Default lens is "Industar-61 L/D", 2.8/55. Of course, all lenses with M39 (LTM) mount fit this lens.
Shutter is cloth, curtains move horizontally. Possible shutter speeds are: 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 sec and B.
Viefinder is united with rangefinder, rangefinder base is 43 mm. Viewfinder has a dioptric adjustment mechanism (+/- 2 dioptre).
Camera has a self-timer, cable synchrocontact for flash and hot-shoe (late versions only, offered camera has it).
Tripod socket is 1/4".
Camera offered has a "USSR Quality mark" meaning that this specific camera has better quality than ordinary "FED-5".
Camera had two types of name on the front (here I offer early variant).
