Zenit ET, film SLR camera
35 mm, 87133867, M42 mount
Belorussian Optical Mechanical Unity (BelOMO), Vilejka, USSR, 1986

Good condition. Shutter and self-timer work fully properly. Lightmeter works, but an arrow goes only halfway and then gets stuck. Body has signs of age and use. Self-timer lever does not have a plastic cover. Viewfinder has dirt inside. Left shutter curtain has abrasion area with light leakage. Lens is not included, body only.

History of the camera
In 1981 KMZ (Krasnogorsk) started production of SLR "Zenit-10", and in 1982 - "Zenit-11". It were models combining body and shutter from "Zenit-12" (export version of "Zenit TTL") and built-in lightmeter from "Zenit E".

In 1982 BelOMO started production of "Zenit-10" with new name "Zenit ET". Default lens were "Helios-44-2" or "Industar-50-2".

In the mid 1980-s "Zenit ET" got jumping diaphragm and default lens"Helios 44m", thus became the copy of "Zenit-11". Also it got hidden lock of rear cover.

In the late 1980-s some metal parts were replaced with plastic, some "Zenit ET" were made without light-meter.

Camera had version - "Zenit ET laboratory" - produced by BelOMO. Camera was designed for reproduction shooting and photomicrograph. No pentaprism, no light meter, vertical viewfinder. The only shutter speed is "B".

Camera was produced at BelOMO since 1982 till 1995 and at KMZ (61069 pieces made). Totally about 3 mln pieces were made.

The square of viewfinder was only 65% of the real frame size (20x28mm). Shutter decelerator was absent so the longest shutter speed was only 1/30 s. It was also the only shutter speed when using flash. For flashes camera has a hot shoe and synchrocontact "X".

Its price with "Helios 44-2" was 140 Soviet roubles, with "Industar 50-2" - only 117 Soviet roubles (average salary was approx. 130 Soviet roubles).
