A mixture of pieces of flowering, lingual and tubular flowers, wrapper leaves and their fragments, occasionally pieces of unripe fruits of greenish-yellow color interspersed with grayish-green, reddish-orange, orange, light yellow, green, yellowish-brown and brown, passing through a sieve with holes of 5 mm. The smell is faint. The taste of water extraction is brackish-bitter.

Pharmacodynamics
Marigold flowers contain carotenoids, flavonoids, triterpene saponins, resins, mucous substances, tannins, essential oil, organic acids, ascorbic acid, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.
Infusion of marigold flowers has an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and choleretic effect.
Indications
Externally, an infusion of marigold flowers is used for rinsing as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic agent for inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis). Sometimes it is used internally as a choleretic.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, as well as to other plants of the family of compound flowers. Acute gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the period of exacerbation. When used orally – children's age (up to 12 years), when used orally: calculous cholecystitis.
Method of administration and dosage
About 10 g (3 tablespoons) of marigold flowers are placed in an enameled dish, 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water is poured, covered with a lid and insisted on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 200 ml with boiled water .
For rinsing the mouth and pharynx, 1/2 - 1 cup of infusion is used 3-5 times a day in a warm form.
Inside, take 1-2 tablespoons 2-3 times a day before meals. Before use, the infusion must be shaken.
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible. When ingested, there may be a feeling of bitterness in the mouth, a burning sensation in the epigastric region, abdominal pain.
