For the basis of this decoration, we took a pendant found during archaeological excavations on the island of Ryugen, dating back to 950 AD. Now these finds can be viewed in the historical museum of Stralsund (Germany).
The Hiddensee Treasure was accidentally found in 1873 during the recovery from a significant flood in 1872 and 1873 on the island of Hiddensee, Germany (Ryugen Island), Baltic Sea. The treasure consists of 16 pendants, a brooch and a necklace. gold with a total weight of 600 grams. This is the largest find of golden Viking artifacts in Germany.
