bull skull Handmade bronze necklace pendant - bull skull cross Charm, jewelry necklace pendant.

The bull is the symbol of the Moon. A crescent moon is associated with the horns of a bull, and a bison with an arrow in its side symbolizes the "death" of the moon, that is, moonless nights. The sacred animal of the Akkadian god Apis was called a "bearded bull" that "ruled time with the help of golden horns." They considered the moon god to be the source of fertility. There was a belief that grass grows under the moon; in France, peasants for a long time sowed under the moon - to give birth.
The bull is a symbol of the god of the earth. The custom of hanging a bull's skull on the facade and in the interior of the house, born in the Paleolithic, indicates that the god of the earth was the patron of the house not only in the form of a snake, but also in the form of a bull from whose mouth water flows - a symbol of the earth from which a stream flows. The souls of dead people belong to the bull. In Central Asia, there was a custom of burying the deceased, wrapping his body in the skin of a bull /"the dead belongs to the bull"/.

Characteristic of antiquity, the convex architectural stucco decoration in the form of a bull's head or skull with horns in a garland of leaves was called Bucranius (ancient Greek βουκρνιον - bull's skull).

In folklore, the bull and the ox are associated with fertility, the moon and the afterlife. Let's recall the Ukrainian riddle: "The field is unmeasured, the flock is uncounted, in the middle is the horned shepherd" (sky, stars, moon). The handmade bull skull jewellery, like the moon, according to folk beliefs, has an influence on the vegetation of the earth and on the fertility of plants, animals and people.
