The work of St. Andrew, Archbishop of Caesarea, of all the numerous interpretations of the Apocalypse of the Apostle John the Theologian enjoys the greatest authority in the Church. Archbishop Andrew of Caesarea is looking for the key to understanding the Apocalypse, first of all, in the Holy Scripture itself: in the prophetic books of the Old Testament, where some images of the future destinies of the Old Testament and New Testament Churches are drawn, as well as in the Gospel and Apostolic Epistles. In addition, St. Andrew relies on the works of the ancient holy fathers.
