This Russian Orthodox icon is made by hand from wood aged for 5-years (pine, linden & oak) using traditional church iconography techniques.
It is Traditionally Painted & Decorated. The icon image is hand + mechanical (combined technique) painted with natural oil paint and the halo is crafted with genuine gold leaf.
Vintage Effects: The special and unique handmade process gives the icon a vintage and antique look.
For Image Protection,  the icon is varnished with 3 layers of beeswax-based lacquer for UV protection.

The aging of the icons is a manual procedure that gives the wood an aged appearance without degrading the depiction it reflects. The image will not change or lose its sharpness in this manner.
