100% hand painted icon of Saint Spiridon on wood.
The icon was created on a linden board with gesso, canvas, with the traditional technique of egg tempera, which is based on the use of natural pigments (crushed minerals and organic dyes) and a gradual, multi-layered application of paint diluted with egg emulsion.

Spyridon was ordained to the priesthood. The Creator rewarded the ascetic with the gift of miracles - through his prayer, drought or heavy rains stopped, were healings and demons were cast out.
His incorrupt relics are stored in the Corfu church that bears his name.
The 12th of December is a day set aside to honor his memory.
