Description/history of the order:
ORDER OF ST. EQUAL TO THE APOSTLE PRINCE VLADIMIR
Established on September 22, 1782 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the reign of Catherine II as a reward for distinction
in the public service. Divided into 4 degrees. The two elders were called the degrees of the Grand Cross
and had a star, in the center of which, between the rays of a golden cross, is the name of the order C R K B in the corners, and the motto:
BENEFITS OF HONOR AND GLORY. Crosses of the 3rd and 4th degrees initially also did not differ in size. Dark red enamel cross
with a black border has on the front side an image of an ermine mantle,
on which stands the monogram SV (Saint Vladimir), on the other side - the date of the establishment of the order.
