Item description from the seller

Dark green tangezite (shaitanite) ball with small metal stand. Stone sphere with inclusions of other minerals.

Shaitanite is an analogue of dragon glass from Kazakhstan, found after a fire at the Tengiz oil field. The properties and appearance of shaitanite and tengezite are identical, but the origin of the first remains a mystery.

This rare and beautiful mineral is most likely of man-made origin, although there are no industrial enterprises near its small deposits in a village in the Urals.

Diameter 3" (75 mm)
Weight of sphere is 16.2 Oz (460 g)

Origin: Sverdlovsk Region, Russia
