Antique Giant Russian Wooden Chess set. 1900s.

!!! Historical reference: This chess set was found in 1991 during the reconstruction of the house-estate of Count Yermolin near the town of Tsaritsin (after Stalingrad, now it is the city of Volgograd). In 1996, the Shamates were sold from the Auction, after which they were in private collections. Count Ermolin Aleksey Alekseevich lived in the Estate near the town of Tsaritsin from 1900 to 1916. At the beginning of 1917 he left Russia for Immigration.
