I live in Florida where I rarely, if ever, get to use my home's fireplace. After receiving my bulb, I ran an electrical cord and lamp socket into my fireplace, installed the flame bulb, and placed logs in such a way that you get a glimpse of the flame effect of the bulb but can't tell it's not a real flame. The bulb is bright enough to simulate a real fire, and the glimpse of the bulb's flame action between the logs is very realistic. I now have what looks like a fire in my fireplace any time of the year! I love it!
