 I recommend using a 4-6 mm needle, the loops should be hammered very close otherwise there will be gaps
I used a 6mm needle

The difficulty level is indicated on the cover. These are just my recommendations based on my experience. If you are a beginner, I would advise you to start with the easy level.  

Please remember that you must have all the materials you need beforehand
