DK (11 wpi; 8 ply; no 3: Light) cotton yarn 150-200g or 345-460 yards for kids sizes and 300-400g or 690-920 yards for adult sizes
Knitting needles US 11 (8 mm) or to obtain gauge 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm) = 14 sts x 18 rows (in garter stitch)
