A Court of Thorns and Roses Series

A maze of snow and ice had formed across the woodland. After an hour of observing the characteristics of the thicket, my vantage position in the crook of a tree branch had become worthless. Thick flakes were blown by the strong wind, covering my tracks and any indications of prospective prey in the process. Hunger had forced me to travel further than I typically would have, but winter was a difficult season. I was left to kill stragglers one by one while hoping they would make it till spring since the animals had drawn in and gone further into the woods than I could pursue.
