Description:
This elegant hand crafted and custom made 12.00" Bowie hunting knife is made with high quality D2 tool steel blade which has gone through extreme forging. Knife maker hand forged the blade of this knife with D2 tool steel. Blade was given excellent heat treatment and Rockwell hardness of the blade along its edge is 54 and along the spine is 42-45. D2 Steel holds an edge very well and is optimum for hunting and skinning uses as well as tactical or military tasks. The steel is very corrosive and will tarnish when blood, acidic-liquids, or acidic-chemicals come into contact with the blade. The blade will still cut OK, but will lose the satin color when it was new.
