Graeme Edge, the lyricist and drummer of The Moody Blues, took advantage of a long leave of absence from the MOODY BLUES in 1974 to form his own studio band, The Graeme Edge Band, which included guitar brothers Paul Hurwitz. and Adrian Hurwitz (known for their work in the group The Gun of the second half of the 1960s, and as members of the Baker Gurvitz Army project of Ginger Baker from Cream). 

With them, Edge released two albums in the same years as Hayward and Lodge - first Kick Off Your Muddy Boots (1975), then Paradise Ballroom on Decca Records (Europe), Nova (Germany), London Records (USA, Canada) , Japan). In general, this material was similar to the solo albums of other "Smoky Blues", Hayward and Lodge, with the only difference that there are good guitar solos here, as well as a little heavier, compared to the traditional sound of soft and / or pop rock, sound, of course, due to the participation of the Hurwitz brothers. Usually, these albums still stand on the shelf right after the GUN/THREE MAN ARMY/BAKER GURVITZ ARMY discs...not many, but some "notorious" collectors for sure.

After the collapse of the "BAKER GURVITZ ARMY", the further careers of the musicians developed in different ways. Baker finally plunged into solo work and no longer pursued success. The Hurwitz brothers tried their hand at the new power-trio, this time with the drummer of "MOODY BLUES" Graeme Edge (Graeme Edge ) and even recorded a couple of records, but without result. Later, Adrian began a solo career in which his brother helped him a lot, acting as a producer and performer on his albums, but the success was equivalent to that which they had in the late 60s and they have not reached.

In August 2005, the group's album, titled "Three Man Army 3", unexpectedly appeared on the music market. And the story of its origin is as follows: in 1974, the brothers hatched the idea to release a rock opera, which had the working title - "Three Days To Go" and the musicians even recorded several demo songs for this project. At that time, this project failed and in 2003 Paul found these recordings, remastered them and released a CD. As for the title of the fourth album in THREE MAN ARMY's discography, "Three Man Army 3", it is intended to emphasize the continuity - it follows "Three Man Army Two" after all.
