About this item
This is my hanging version of classical japanese lanterns. It hangs in my workshop and I love it very much. The frame of item is made of oak, the lattice is made of maple and shoji paper. All parts of the lantern are connected without any metal details using only classical carpenter wood connections. The lamp is finished with natural oil (Rubio PURE) and waxes. It includes an E27 (E26 for USA) socket. The fixing box on the ceiling is also made of wood. The lenght of wire is about 9 inches.

This is a beautiful piece of craftmanship, and the final product is stunning. You can really see the natural patterns well on the shoji paper, and the woodwork is well done and intricate in the traditional kumiko lantern style. It arrived well-packaged and in perfect condition. There are also some very clever design features, such as the magnets used to hold the bottom wood lattice in place, which you remove to change the bulb (much easier than many ceiling light designs). The ceiling mounting box is also beautiful and well designed. The craftsman was very friendly and easy to work with, and quite responsive to queries about the product. Not only would I definitely purchase this product again, I have already arranged to purchase another one.
