Item description from the seller
down arrow

Going on the road, Buddhist priests put on a special cassock, shorter so as not to interfere on mountain roads, but wide to hide the body from the scorching sun. It was motske-koromo that became the marching attire of military priests and combat monks "sohei", accompanying them in battles and allowing them to hide other elements of armor on breastplates.

The default material is black cotton with a weight of 240g (8.5oz), but you can pick specific color if contact us.

If you have some specific wishes about sizing of your costume just contact us or leave a comment to the order with your actual measurement and we'll make in a proper size.

Please note - we make every single pair in a custom way so we'll need some time (usually from a week or two) to sew your personal monk robe.
