Pine tar (var, pine resin).
Pine resin or pine tar is a dark brown thick and sticky liquid with a characteristic smoking odor. It is obtained by dry distillation of wood from pine stumps, pitch, baras, spruce serka (the old name is var).

A very sticky substance. When heated, it liquefies quickly and boils easily.

Natural wood tar has a specific pleasant smell and does not harm human and animal health.

Diluted with water, it is used as an aromatic substance with a specific taste and smell.

The use of pine tar

as an additive in sweets (e.g. Terva Leijona) and alcohol (Terva Viina), Finland
as a spice for food production, such as meat.
as a sauna fragrance: mixes with water thrown on the heater
as an anti-dandruff ingredient in shampoo
getting rid of seborrhea
in the production of cosmetic and perfumery products
mixing tar with linseed oil, wood paints are obtained
for antiseptic treatment of lumber and wood.
