It's because this vintage silk screened poster is based on an original Great Depression-era WPA travel poster, when Saguaro was still was just a national monument.

From 1936 – 1943 the Federal Art Project under the Works Progress Administration commissioned over 200,000 works from American artists and artisans in order to support struggling creatives. Out of these commissions came hundreds of poster designs that capture the breadth and beauty of American culture and landscapes.
