The sunflower has always been a symbol of solar energy, life, health and prosperity. There is a belief that the gods gave people a sunflower as a gift so that they always have a heavenly body next to them.
Sunflower is associated with fidelity, devotion. According to legend, the nymph fell in love with the sun god, who did not reciprocate. For days on end she looked at him, never taking her eyes off him, refused water, food. Soon, from hunger and longing, she turned into a flower that never turns away from the sun.
