A Gothic tale that destabilizes male-female binaries and subverts literary tropes, this is the book's first English publication.

Cristina Rivera Garza, an acclaimed author and Distinguished Professor at the University of Houston, has received numerous awards, including the MacArthur “Genius” Grant. Her works have been translated into several languages.

Sarah Booker is a Spanish-to-English translator and PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with a focus on contemporary Latin American narratives and translation studies.
