The Nakamichi MB-100 is the pinnacle of Nakamichi engineering. 

The MB-100 is a six-disc tuner and an external 24-bit DAC with a separate preamplifier behind the unit, which has analog and digital inputs and outputs. The DAC is connected to the head unit via a bus. 
It is possible to select the voltage of the preamplifier outputs from 1 to 5 volts. 

The changer comes with a drop-shaped remote control, which is nice to hold in your hand.

All input and output terminals are gold-plated. The unit has a noise-resistant aluminum panel. All of these components helped to achieve an unprecedented low harmonic distortion of only 0.008% and the famous pure Nakamichi sound.

The MB-100 is one of the best sounding head units in the world. Nowadays such devices are rare, some audiophiles put this Nakamichi in their home audio system. 

It consists of two units: the first unit is a 6-disc changer, radio and a removable control panel.
The second unit is an external sound processor. External analog or digital devices can be connected to it. You can connect your smartphone via an analog jack and listen to streams from the Internet. Or you can connect a portable digital player via coaxial cable and enjoy digital Hi-Rez quality.
The MB-100 system will allow you to really get into the quality sound space. Nakamichi doesn't sugarcoat the sound like many other companies have done. You can burn music to a CD on your computer from MP3 files or high-quality FLAC files, and the MB-100 will let you feel the difference right away. All the imperfections of MP3 encoding will be immediately audible! Conversely, any high-quality recording (from FLAC files and the like with very high bitrate) will immediately be hampered by the capabilities of the amplifier and speakers. Not cheap amplifier and very high quality expensive speakers will work perfectly together with the MB100, with them it unleashes its full potential (and stuns the owner). Just like 25 years ago, as designed by the best engineers. No such level of sound devices are produced today. Car radios are made by marketers.

The head unit is sensitive to improper installation in the car, I want to list the main mistakes:

1. The head unit itself when installed in the panel can rest against some obstacle (wiring harness, block of some device, fasteners). Inexperienced installers will try to force the missing distance to fix the head unit flush with the panel. In the back at this moment the MB-100 housing wall will bend and kill the CD changer mechanism... Instead of enjoying the music, the customer gets an expensive repair.

2. Second processor unit. The most trivial error, do not feed the minus wire. More precisely not in time, in the last turn. 
They connect the interblock wires to external amplifiers, and then, by mistake, first connect the PLUS from the battery. Processor unit burns out immediately, the minus is not connected yet!
Be sure to take this point into account when connecting. The manual specifies everything. At the beginning of the work it is necessary to disconnect the car battery, and only then start the installation. First the power wiring, then the connection cables to the amplifiers.

3. The Nakamichi mechanism is extremely sensitive and precise. The gaps between the moving parts are counted in fractions of a millimeter. During installation there can also be a slight tilt in the case, "twisting", when the screws are tightened into the case unevenly or with different force. This is not noticeable, but the parts of the mechanism begin to cling to each other and to the walls of the case. Time passes, and the radio unit refuses to work. On the display an Error ("E-MECHA") is displayed. 

4. Dirt. I disassembled several of these mechanisms Nakamichi, you could see dirt on the edges of the disk guides. Lots of dirt. The owners were putting discs with dirt that had been stored in the car in poor conditions, taking the discs with their hands greasy from food, and so on. In inconspicuous amounts, dirt accumulates in the mechanism, and jams, misalignments, and the result is a constant "E-MECHA"...

5. In the transport position the mechanism of the radio is fixed with two bolts and a pin! This is very important.

So pay attention to the proper installation of such equipment!)

This is truly an audiophile device, the Nakamichi MB-100 fully unleashes digital and analog sound.
