The magazine “64 - Chess Review” was founded as an illustrated sports and methodological magazine of the USSR State Sports Committee. Published since January 1980.

The publication contains recordings of games with comments from leading Soviet, Russian and foreign chess players. The pages of the publication publish articles and comments on the theory and history of chess, interviews, and materials on composition. Various Soviet and international chess tournaments are described.
