This filter has 49x0.75 mount and is designed for popular USSR lenses: Helios-44-2, Mir-1, Mir-1B, Mir-1SH, Jupiter-9 and others.
This is a classic yellow filter with strong power. Also it can be marked as Y-1,4x. Its aim is to weaken blue light and atmospheric haze. When taking picture of blue sky with clouds the filter intensifies contrast, blue sky becomes more gray. Also it strengthens the distinctness of far objects and contrast of shadows.

Yellow effect is expressed more when taking photo at natural light and less at artificial light.
If you need less powerful yellow filter, you can use ZhS-12 which has weaker effect.
If you need more powerful yellow filter, you can use ZhS-18 which has stronger effect.
