About this item

Deer are the hoofed ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. The family is quite large, and includes caribou, elk, moose, muntjacs and wapiti. In many cultures, the deer is a symbol of spiritual authority. In the Christian imagination, the deer is a symbol of piety, devotion and of God taking care of his children: men.

The deer was sacred to the feisty goddess Artemis, from Greek mythology.  Deer symbolize the powers in nature that are not easily subdued.  They are native to every continent except Australia, thus they are able to adapt very well to many habitats. They represent instinctual energy, independence, and regeneration, which stems from their antlers being shed and re-grown each year.  This instinctual energy that deer represent tells us to trust our gut reactions, because those instincts will tell us when to fight or flee. Deer also symbolizes the gentle, enticing lure of new adventures.  But there is also a cautious element to deer.  Their antlers grow behind the eyes and offer protection.  They also protect their fawns, by keeping them close while the mother nurses them.

Monochrome picture means using black and white colors OR variations of tones of the same color.  Also some can say that monochrome image consists of a single color against neutral background.

If you choose your own color for cross stitching this design – the result will be different. DMC colors are suggested, not binding/obligatory and can be easily changed per your needs or preferences.

Please, note that design images are shown on different colors of aida fabric for your visual on how different colors of background change the whole design. Feel free to choose any background color for your personal preference.
