Very good condition. Shutter and rangefinder work properly. Self-timer does not work (lever is blocked). Shutter curtain has a light leakage dot. Body has signs of age, part of the leatherettre has came instuck. Lens is not included, body only.
History of the camera
This camera was produced since 1961 till 1979 at "FED" plant. Totally 2 086 825 cameras were made. Comparing with previous model "FED-2" new shutter speeds were added: 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 second. The vertical size of the camera increased (110 mm instead of 90 mm).
All cameras had self-timer. Body was of cast aluminium with removable rear cover. Camera had a synchrocontact "X" with only possible shutter speed 1/30 s.
Shutter is cloth, curtains move horizontally. Possible shutter speeds are: 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 second and B.
Camera has a cold shoe and a tripod socket 1/4".
Camera had 2 variants:
-early, produced since 1961 till 1965, with barrel shutter cocking;
-late, produced since 1966 till 1979, with cock shutter cocking (camera offered).
In 1970 a mechanism of shutter block was introduced if shutter is recessed not fully.
Rangefinder base is 43 mm (decreased from 50,25 mm at "FED-2"). Viewfinder has a dioptric adjustment mechanism (+/- 2 dioptre).
Default lens is "Industar-26m" (2.8/50), "Industar-61" (2.8/52) or "Industar-61 L/D" (2.8/55). Of course, all lenses with M39 (LTM) mount fit this lens.
SInce 1964 till 1980 simultaneously "FED-4" with built-in light-meter was produced.
In 1977 was replaced with "FED-5". When exported abroad camera could have a name "Revue-3".
