The essential oil of myrtle Firoil is obtained from the leaves and ends of branches of an evergreen shrub growing along the entire coast of the Mediterranean Sea by water-steam distillation. In the ancient world, myrtle was considered a symbol of immortality and love. The Romans decorated the heads of poets and winners of sports competitions with wreaths of myrtle. Even then, the deodorizing and antiseptic effects of myrtle leaves were known.
Having a strong anti-inflammatory and expectorant effect, myrtle essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy in the fight against such ailments as chronic cough, pneumonia, bronchitis, tracheitis, flu and various colds. And due to the fact that myrtle oil is considered a relatively mild oil, it is very suitable for the treatment of cough in children. Myrtle oil perfectly strengthens the walls of blood vessels, increases their elasticity, so it is recommended for people with varicose veins (if there are no nodes and inflammation), with phlebitis (swelling, pain and weakness are characteristic symptoms, the leg turns white and becomes heavy), hemorrhoids.
Myrtle essential oil is successfully used in cosmetology, as it stimulates the protective functions of the skin, gives it elasticity, tightens pores and eliminates wrinkles. Acting directly on the central nervous system, myrtle oil relieves stress, sudden mood swings, is a mild sedative.
Any of the essential oils in a person with highly sensitive skin can cause allergies. This happens extremely rarely, but for safety reasons, we recommend conducting a test for the tolerance of essential oils. To do this, dilute a few drops of myrtle oil with a small amount of any vegetable oil and apply to the wrist area. If the oil has not caused any allergies within 12 hours, it can be used.
