A playful pair of penguin mittens for little ones. These warm and cosy mittens are a firm favourite with small babies who are drawn to their high contrast design and by toddlers who love the fun animal faces peeping out of their coat sleeves. Complete with long rib stitch cuffs which can be worn folded up or down.

The mittens are worked flat on straight needles from the bottom up and then seamed together and the penguin features are created using duplicate stitches to finish. The smaller sizes 0-6M and 6-12M are thumbless, while the larger sizes 1-2Y and 2-3Y include thumbs and require knitting a thumb gusset. Finally, the mitten top is shaped using mirrored decreases for a professional finish.
