This necklace is handmade.
Thistle is the common name for a group of flowering plants characterized by leaves with sharp thorns along the edges, mainly from the Compositae family. Spines can also be found throughout the plant - on the stem and on the flat parts of the leaves. In Celtic symbolism, the thistle represents nobility and grace. It became the emblem of Scotland in the 1200s and of the Order of the Thistle in 1540.
