The Yellow Uxi (Endopleura uchi) is a tall tree of the humiriaceae family, native to the Amazon, with straight and straight trunk, gray bark, good quality wood, jagged leaves and edible drupe, with oilseeds. Also called uxipuçu, found in the wild state of the primary forest of dry land scattered throughout Pará and Amazonas.

Yellow uxi is rich in tannins, saponins and coumarins, especially bergenin, with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, diuretic and immune-stimulating properties, and is popularly used as a home remedy for the treatment of fibroids, ovarian or uterine cysts, endometriosis, menstrual colic, urinary infections, kidney stones, intestinal infection, diarrhea, asthma, high cholesterol, arthritis, rheumatism, diabetes, stomach pain, gastritis and gastric ulcers.
