Item description from the seller

A ring from a German coin dedicated to the writer Grimmelshausen and his most important work - the picaresque novel The Adventures of Simplicissimus, which was published in 1669 in Nuremberg.
A novel about the time of the Thirty Years' War in Europe and a guy named Simplicissimus - "The Simplest". The very first all-European military conflict gave rise to people like him - vagabonds and adventurers. Simplicissimus managed to be a servant, a rich man, a shepherd, a hermit, a thief, a jester, a cook, a hunter, an actor, a hussar, a doctor, a robber, a musketeer, a pilgrim, a beggar, an officer and a hermit. He even managed to visit the service of the Russian Tsar.
The ring has many small details that convey the spirit of the era to us. Coin designer Reinhart Heinsdorff. Munich mint.
