Amaranth oil is obtained using a patented technology from amaranth embryos, its feature is the unique chemical composition of the unsaponifiable fraction.

What is so famous for amaranth oil? Firstly, it has an unusually high content of squalene (up to 8%). No vegetable oil with a similar amount of this substance is known. For example: olive oil contains 0.7% squalene, rice bran oil — 0.3%. of wheat germ — 0.1%. Squalene is one of the most important biologically active compounds and performs the role of a regulator of lipid and steroid metabolism in the body, being a precursor to a number of steroid hormones, cholesterol and vitamin D. Squalene is an essential component of the sebaceous glands of human subcutaneous tissue and is always found in skin secretions. Clinical studies have shown the effective effect of squalene on the reduction of total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, responsible for the occurrence of atherosclerosis.

The next most important component of amaranth oil is tocopherols (Vitamin E), mainly in the form of the most biologically active trienolic form. The total content of tocopherols in amaranth oil obtained by gentle technology can reach 0.3%.

The content of phospholipids in amaranth oil is also high (up to 8%), the predominant component of which is phosphatidylcholine (lecithin). The biological role of lecithin is well known. It is enough to mention the high content of lecithin in the egg yolk, as well as in the human brain.

And another group of biologically active compounds is represented by nature in amaranth oil. These are phytosterols. Their content reaches 2%. There are up to 5 types of phytosterols. All of them are squalene derivatives. Like squalene, phytosterols have the ability to lower cholesterol levels in the blood.
