The homeland of black cumin (black seed) is southwest Asia and the Mediterranean. The history of the use of black cumin oil has more than one thousand years. The medicinal properties of this medicinal remedy were mentioned in the writings of Hippocrates. Avicenna called it the elixir of eternal youth and longevity.

Black cumin oil contains more than 100 active substances and about 50 catalysts for natural cell biosynthesis. The high biological activity of the fatty oil of the seeds of blackberries is explained by the high content and unique composition of unsaturated fatty acids and part of the essential oil.

This is due to the fact that in the process of obtaining fatty black cumin oil, along with essential acids, there is a transition of some components of the essential oil – thymoquinone. The main active ingredient of black cumin oil is nigelon – the strongest antioxidant, an inhibitor of histamine production.

Black cumin seeds also contain alkaloids (nigellidine and nigellicine, damascene), acetylcholines, catechins, sterols, dehydro-retinol acetate, tocopherol, methylretinol acetate antioxidants and essential oils. The National Cancer Institute (Kimmel Cancer Centerin Jefferson, USA) classifies black cumin oil as anti-cancer agents. Anti–carcinogenic properties are given to the oil by its bioactive component - thymoquinone, which significantly inhibits the growth of cancer cells. According to the conclusions of American oncologists, thymoquinone blocks the activity of inflammatory cytokines. It has been established that thymoquinone is an inhibitor of angiogenesis.

Normalizes metabolic processes in people with metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes, slows down the process of gluconeogenesis in the liver, has hypoglycemic activity, reduces blood pressure due to the presence of a complex of essential fatty acids and thymoquinone.
An effective means of combating various pathogenic microorganisms, has a high anti-inflammatory activity.
Antiallergic agent, helps in the treatment of various dermatological diseases associated with neurohumoral and histamine disorders.
Black cumin oil is also used as a highly effective diuretic, mild laxative, immunostimulating agent. It optimizes the work of the intestine by eliminating the phenomena of dysbiosis, prevents obesity, promotes weight loss, is an antidote to alcohol.
Reduces the risk of cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases.
Improves the functioning of the digestive system, is effective in the complex treatment of cholestitis, hepatitis, pancreatitis, has an antispasmodic effect, has hepatoprotective activity.
