Linseed oil has long been one of the most popular in Russia. The chemical composition of flax seeds varies depending on the variety, the degree of maturity at the time of harvesting, the area of cultivation, the composition of soil and fertilizers, climatic and weather conditions, the more northerly the area of origin of seeds, the higher the content of omega 3 fatty acids (from 48.5 to 68.5% of the amount of fatty acids).

Linseed oil contains a complex of physiologically valuable ingredients.

The uniqueness of linseed oil consists in a very high content (up to 57%) of polyunsaturated alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) — an essential fatty acid in the human diet, which contributes to the implementation of important biological functions in the human body.

It is known that insufficient content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the body leads to a number of pathological disorders, including growth retardation, changes in capillary permeability, necrotic skin lesions and others. Polyunsaturated fatty acids are precursors of hormone—like substances - prostaglandins, which exhibit antiatherogenic and immunomodulatory properties. Essential fatty acids include linoleic and linolenic acids, which differentiate into omega-3 and omega-6 groups (the ratio of omega-3 to omega–6 in linseed oil is 1:0.3).

Linseed oil contains a composition of biologically active components, which includes a complex of antioxidants (phytosterols, carotenoids) and their synergists (phosphatidylcholines) perfectly balanced by nature, due to which the oil exhibits high antiradical activity and is quite self-sufficient in terms of antioxidant protection.

The nutritional and physiological value of linseed oil is also determined by the amount and composition of tocopherols (vitamin E), especially y- and B-isomers, which have pronounced antioxidant properties.

It is effective in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, angina pectoris, thrombosis and other diseases, including lipid metabolism disorders.
Accelerates fat metabolism, reduces the absorption of cholesterol from the intestine.
It has anti-atherosclerotic, antiarrhythmic, antithrombotic effects.
Effective in the prevention of allergic and dermatological diseases.
Reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood and prevents the formation of blood clots, strengthens the walls of blood vessels and contributes to the normalization of blood pressure.
It has a positive effect on the immune system.
It has pronounced anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
