Lestovka is most often used by Old Believers but is still used by many Orthodox, as it is very convenient for prayer.

Lestovka symbolizes the ladder of spiritual rebirth from earth to heaven.

Lestovka usually held in his left hand. In the Orthodox tradition, the path of the lestovka lies on the index finger. Thumb up, step by step, counted the number of prayers uttered.

Rosary is made using a well-defined technique that has been developed over the centuries and has its own characteristics.

1. Two neatly cut leather strips 1 - 1.5 cm wide are intertwined with each other, forming steps that are tightened and fixed on a dense paper base (rolls).

2. For the manufacture of triangles (lapostki), hard cardboard is taken, on top of which tissue or leather is glued. Triangles (lapostki) are decorated at the choice of the master - beads, sequins, gold thread.

The entire process of manufacturing one Rosary takes from six to eight or more hours - depending on the complexity of the external finish
