EXSOVIET MEDAL
(UMALATOVA'S  AWARDS)

"70 YEARS OF FORMATION OF THE USSR AIRBONE FORCES"

Award activities of the unregistered socio-political organization Permanent Presidium of the Congress of People's Deputies of the USSR began shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The awards issued by this organization do not have an official legal status, they should not be confused with state awards - orders and medals of the Soviet Union. In journalism and among falerists, in relation to these awards, the expression "Umalatova's awards" or "Umalatov's awards" is used by the name of the organization's chairman and head of the awards committee, Sazha Zaindinovna Umalatova.

On the obverse of the medal, the Commander of the USSR Airborne Forces, General of the Army V.F. Margelov, with the star of the Hero of the Soviet Union on his chest, is depicted in full face, behind whose back the parachute landing of personnel takes place - one can see the air-filled parachute domes and the paratroopers in their slings, poured out of the belly of the VTA aircraft USSR receding beyond the horizon. On the reverse of the medal, the dates "1930-2000" are indicated at the bottom, and the motto of the Soviet paratroopers: "No one but us" at the top. Between the inscriptions is the emblem of the Airborne Forces in the form of a parachute and two flying aircraft against the background of an unfolded bipolar image of the globe.
