Prince  Yaroslav (Konstantin Svyatoslavich) was a descendant of the equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir. He asked his father, Prince Svyatoslav of Chernigov, to give him the inheritance of the city of Murom, inhabited by pagans, in order to enlighten this country with the light of the Christian faith. The prince sent his son Mikhail to the Muromites in KachaHe sent his messenger, but the pagans killed him. When Prince Konstantin approached the city with his retinue, the inhabitants resigned themselves and accepted him. Without forcing the pagans to accept the faith of Christ by force, the prince did not, however, abandon the thought of their enlightenment and, first of all, built the church of the Annunciation on the site of the murder of his son, and soon another church in honor of St. Nicholas. Boris and Gleb. At the same time, he himself repeatedly called the elders of the city to him and urged them to change their faith, the clergy who arrived with the prince also addressed the Muromites with a sermon about Christ.
