Royal Martyrs Romanov Family orthodox icon, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia and his Family, The canonization of the Romanovs Orthodox Russian icon.
The Russian Imperial Romanov family (Emperor Nicholas II, his wife Empress Alexandra and their five children: Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei) were shot and bayoneted to death by Communist revolutionaries under Yakov Yurovsky in Yekaterinburg on the night of 16–17 July 1918.
For each person bearing the name of one of the royal sufferers, he (or she) will become their patron saints. These names are Nikolai, Alexandra, Alexey, Olga, Tatyana, Maria and Anastasia.
