Vintage Russian PALEKH Lacquer Box RUSSKAYA TROYKA Hand Painted Signed USSR 1970s

Hand Painted Russian souvenir Lacquered Box 1,3" Tall x 5,3" Wide x 1,8" Deep. The interior is red and has the faint smell of linseed oil, so it's authentic at least in application of the paint. Miniature painting in tempera on a japanned ground, with added gilding. Gold paint is used to detail the rich trappings, stars, horses... This miniature is very delicate and detailed! The composition is embellished with a golden ornamental frame. The box's sides are decorated with gold ornament. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black color is used to paint the exterior of the box while red color completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged on the top of the lid. In the lower right corner of the initials of the artist.
