Encyclopedia of Chess Gambits. Chess Game Tutorial. NOS!(New old stock). The Books not been used before! Unique Collectible Instance!!!

Book: "Encyclopedia of Chess Gambits". Author: Anatoly Matsukevich. Publishin: AST. Pages: 256 pages. 2007.

Annotation: For the first time, an entire encyclopedia is dedicated to gambits! We invite you to the exciting, vibrant world of the gambit game. Gambits are the general name for beginnings in which one of the sides (usually white) sacrifices some material (usually a pawn) to get ahead in development, capture the center or create an attack on the king. If the victim is accepted, the gambit is accepted; if not accepted, the gambit is refused. When the opponent, in turn, offers a counter-sacrifice, a counter-gambit occurs. The name “gambit” comes from the Italian “dare il gambetto” (to substitute a leg), and this expression completely defines the essence of what is happening on the board - it entered the everyday language of chess players at the end of the 16th century, when it was used by the Spaniard Ruy Lopez in his famous manual. “dare il gambetto” (to substitute a leg), means playing sharply and unconventionally at the very beginning of the game, sacrificing a pawn or even a piece in order to seize the initiative, quickly develop your attack and threaten the enemy king.
