Good condition. Shutter works properly at 1/100, 1/250 and 1/500 sec (at slower speeds curtains get stuck). Curtains had abrasion area, fixed with insulating tape (see photo #9), several dots with light leakage remain. Body has signs of age, right rangefinder window does not have a metal frame. Lens is not included, body only.

History of the camera
This is the first independent camera created by "FED" plant, Kharkiv, Ukraine, USSR. Its ancestor "FED-1" was a copy of German Leica II. "FED-2" was produced since 1955 till 1970.

Instead of "FED-1" this camera has a united viewfinder and rangefinder with one common eyepiece. Baseline was increased up to 67 mm, rear aluminium cover became removable. Eyepiece got a built-in dioptric adjustment.

Camera can use standard film cassetes and dual cylinder cassettes from Leica. Default lenses are "Industar-10"(3.5/50), "Industar-26m"(2.8/50), "Industar-61"(2.8/52). Of course, all lenses with M39x1/28.8 (LTM) mount fit this camera. 

Shutter is cloth, horizontal moving. Shutter speeds available: 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500 and B.

Camera has tripod socket 3/8".

Today 4 versions are known. This camera is early Type B, produced since 1956 till 1958. Viewfinder window is round, there is a "FED" logo on the top. This camera has flash synchronization via cable.

Totally 1 632 600 cameras were made.
