The name Mikhail is translated as "Who is like God". The Archangel Michael in Scripture is called "prince", "leader of the army of the Lord" and is depicted as the main fighter against the devil and all lawlessness among people. Hence his ecclesiastical name "Archangel", i.e. senior warrior, leader. Thus, the Archangel Michael appeared to Joshua as an assistant when the Israelites conquered the Promised Land. He appeared to the prophet Daniel in the days of the fall of the Babylonian kingdom and the beginning of the creation of the Messianic kingdom. Daniel was foretold about the help of the people of God by Archangel Michael during the upcoming persecution under the Antichrist. Archangel Michael is revered as the heavenly patron of the Russian land and the main defender of the soldiers who are fighting for the good and good. They pray to Him for protection from secret and open enemies.
