Russian icon Venerable Angelina of Serbia.
This fabulous Russian orthodox icon is made of solid wood using an ancient Russian technique with transverse beams, which prevent the curvature of the wood over time. This handcrafted icon - Venerable Angelina of Serbia, has been produced using paint and decoupage methods. The halos are painted with fine colors similar to pure gold.

The daughter of Prince George of Albania and the wife of Stephen, King of Serbia, Saint Angelina underwent exile together with her husband and shared all the difficulties of life in Albania and Italy. She brought up her two sons, Saints Maxim and John, in a truly Christian spirit. After the death of her husband, having taken monastic vows, Saint Angelina devoted herself to prayer, charity and church building. A faithful wife, a kind mother and a perfect Christian, she truly deserved the name of "Mother Angelina", which the people awarded her. Her miraculous relics are preserved together with the relics of her righteous spouse, St. Stephen and their pious children Maxim and John in the Krushedol Monastery. Saint Angelina found peace and eternal life at the beginning of the sixteenth century.
