Celebrating of January 9 as Republic of Srpska Day, despite the Rulings of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Day of the youngest Serbian state: Happy Birthday bastion of Srbs, Republic of Srpska!

Stephen the first martyr, whose orthodox Christian feast is celebrated on 9. it is also known as St. Stephen the Archdeacon and is the first feast of the year.

He was one of seven deacons who served in the early days of Christianity.

According to the Bible, Stephen was chosen along with other Deacons to help the poor. He was of Jewish origin, lived in Greek areas and spoke the Greek language. He was related to the Apostle Paul, who was not yet a follower of Christ's teaching. Also, he was a cousin of the Apostle Paul.

However, because of his preaching about Christ, he faced accusations, refused to deviate from his teachings, and was stoned to death. This saint was killed when he was 30. his last words were, " Lord, count not this sin upon them."

He is considered the first Christian to die because of his faith, so he was called the first martyr Stevan.

Despite his martyrdom, Stephen became a symbol of courage and fidelity in Christian tradition.
More than 40 temples are dedicated to this saint in Serbia.
