This small wooden bowl is carved from birch burl. Birch burl is a colony of dormant tree buds. The wood of such a burl is very durable. The texture of the birch burl is original and beautiful. On the cross-section, these are circles with dots inside. The so-called peacock eyes. And the longitudinal section is very similar to the frosty pattern on the glass. I cooked the wood in brine for a day. I added the bark of oak, willow and young mountain ash. The bark softened and I took it off. The thorns were exposed. These are the dormant kidneys. And the wood was painted in a rich burgundy color. The shape of the carved wooden bowl resembles a hedgehog. I named this hedgehog Mosya. The wood of the bowl is well polished and covered with oil on wood. This wooden bowl can be used for sweets, cookies, nuts, etc. Spikes, original shape and beautiful wood make the bowl very decorative. This is a handmade author's work, the only copy. There is a token with the author's logo.
